Vagaro costs less for a small team: £20 a month for one calendar and £10 for each extra person. Daviana's diary is £25 a month for one person, £45 for two or three, £80 for four to eight and £120 for nine or more, with no marketplace fee. Since July 2026 Vagaro takes 20% of a new client's first booking through its marketplace. Daviana also answers the phone by voice and costs colour to the gram.
You are a solo stylist or a small team who wants a low monthly price, cheap card payments, memberships and loyalty, and a marketplace, website or branded app to bring in new clients.
Colour cost and the phone are your live problems, you would rather not pay a share of any booking, and you want commission and self-employed pay handled in the same system.

Vagaro's base price is per calendar, so count the people who take bookings. To compare like for like: start at £20 a month, add £10 for each additional bookable person (a five-stylist salon is £60, a seven-stylist salon £80), then add the extras you would actually use. A text plan is £15 to £20 a month for 250 to 350 credits, forms are £10, a website £15. Then estimate the marketplace fee: if 6 new clients a month find you on Vagaro and spend £60 each, 20% of £360 is £72 a month. Card fees come on top for both of us. Set the total against our Diary at your team size (£25 to £120 a month), which has no fee per client. If colour or the phone is part of the decision, try our colour cost calculator or missed call calculator first; they show whether ColorLab or the AI Receptionist would pay for itself.
Vagaro's UK pricing page starts at £20 a month for one bookable calendar, and its pricing article lists each additional employee calendar at £10 a month for up to seven licences, after which more staff are added at no extra charge. Text messages need a paid text plan (from £15 a month for 250 credits) and forms, a website and a branded app are paid add-ons. UK card processing is 1.15% + 20p per dip or tap with no monthly cost. A five-stylist salon would pay £60 a month before texts, add-ons and card fees.
Yes, since 14 July 2026. Vagaro charges a one-time 20% fee when a brand-new customer books through the Vagaro Marketplace or its partner network (which it lists as Yelp, Google and Apple Maps). It collects the fee as a 20% deposit when the client books. Existing clients, and bookings through your own booking widget, website, Facebook, Instagram or branded app, carry no fee. You can opt out by removing your listing from the marketplace. Daviana has no marketplace and charges no fee per client.
Not by voice, based on what Vagaro publishes. Its Vera Receptionist is a chatbot that replies to messages from your Vagaro listing page and, with a text plan, to SMS. Over SMS it cannot book or reschedule directly; it sends the client a link instead. In the UK it is free for a limited time. Daviana's AI Receptionist answers the phone call by voice and books into the same diary the front desk uses.
No. Vagaro's UK pricing page says you can cancel any time with no cancellation fees, and it offers a 30-day free trial. Daviana has no minimum term either: we invoice monthly and you can stop any month.
We found no colour-weighing or gram-costing feature in Vagaro's UK pricing page or its plans and pricing article. It includes inventory tracking, client records and SOAP notes. Daviana's ColorLab weighs every bowl on a Bluetooth scale and costs it to the gram onto the client's bill.
Try Daviana on your own services and prices. The first month is free, with no card, and we will tell you if it is not a fit.
